About Me

Well I've been doing this blog for a while now and I realized I should tell my readers (If there are any) about myself. But I wanted to keep this blog disneyous and so I came up with this: My name is Douglas Hanna. I have the temper of Donald Duck, the playfulness of Figment, The cunning of Aladdin, and the spontaneity of The Genie. I want to help everyone, like Mickey. I have Goofy's clumsiness and DreamFinder's Imagination. I just am just as hyper as Tigger if not more so. I have the showmanship of Lumiere and the fastidiousness of Cogsworth. I roam the streets more then Aladdin and dream more then Ariel. My pet cat, Binky is tougher then Jasmine's pet tiger, Raja. I think “my way or the high way” like TinkerBell. I think “I am a super hero!” like Buzz Lightyear and I won’t let any one tell me differently!
Well that's me in a nutshell and while were on the topic of me you can visit my:

Disney Movie Rewards: Are You An Instant Winner?

So I just played the Disney Movie Rewards Instant Win Games for the day, and I lost...again. However I have won before, I got a free Disney Enchanted Call from Mickey (He congradulated me on getting such good grades~) So has any one else won anything from Disney Movie Rewards Instant Win Contest? Also, when playing around on the Disney Movie Rewards website on the Magical Places section I found a bunch of Limited Edition Coins you can order. Are these worth it?

Movie Review: TinkerBell

Well the hoopla (No adventures club refrence intended) has finally led up to the Walt Disney Company's brand new driect-to-video feature: TinkerBell! and yes, even though I am a teenage guy I did by TinkerBell, and let me tell you, I got some weird stares when I yelled "Holy Cats! There it is!" and ran to the large display of the DVDs. But I digress, the movie was A LOT better then I thought it would be. Except a couple things that were stupid.

One example of these stupid moments was in one scene Videa made Tink mad and all of sudden Tink's face just turns red. (Huh?) I know it was for symbolism but she got mad at other times and her face didn't turn red! Also, a lot of the tinker fairies had Scottish accents. Why? It was most prevalent in Bobble but Mary Fairy and a lot of the others had it too. This movie got a lot of ad time and I think it was defiantly a good film.

AND NOW MY GRADE.....
TinkerBell gets an...

Movie Review: Sleeping Beauty

So this week a huge DVD release occured: Sleeping Beauty: 50th aniversary on HD-DVD and Blue-Ray. I don't own a Blue-Ray player but I did buy the DVD version and was really impressed...kind of.

Let me start by saying that this is the first ever traditionally animated feature to be realesed on Blue-Ray, and I know it was the film's 50th aniversary, but I think they should of released a more timeless film as the first release. I'm not bagging on Sleeping Beauty, but it kind of lost its luster over time, and this Halloween, you'll probably see more Cinderellas then Auroras (and even more Hannah Montanas) and ask a class of first graders what was the name of the princess in Sleeping Beauty? Most of them wouldn't know Aurora's name, or how to prononce it.

So onward, I must say I hadn't seen Sleeping Beauty in some time and really didn't know how they made a feature film about a sleeping princess. I did like the movie but I think the Fairys (Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather) got way too much screen time and the prince didn't get enough screentime (and he looked too much like Johnny Quest)

But I digress, I liked this movie, it isn't (and it will never be) my favorite Disney film. Even if Aurora is my favorite princess. So I give this release a B+ and I reccomend everyone go and buy this release before IT IS SEALED INTO THE DISNEY VAULT FOR 7 YEARS!

Disneyana Yard Sale

Yesterday I was out checking out yard sales around my neighborhood and stumbled upon a yard sale FILLED with Disneyana. It was all run by a woman who was an avid disneyana collector and a member of the NFFC (my mom thought I didn't know what NFFC was) but let me tell you I got some pretty awesome stuff! I got 3 posters that were put up in stores to promote different Disney stuff, one was for Melody Time, another was promoting The Spirit of Mickey, and the last was to get people to join the "brand new" Disney Video Rewards Club. I also got two little wind-up toy cars with Donald Duck in them (Your never too old for a wind-up toy driven by a duck!). But coolest of all were 3-Demensional ads for stores! I got one of Mickey & Donald at the beach (Not advertising anything in particullar), part of the 3-D ad for Beauty & The Beast: An Enchanted Christmas, and coolest of all was a 3-D ad (The entire thing) to promote the relese of Lady & The Tramp on VHS! I'll post pictures later if you want to come see them.

Sorry for the lack of humor here folks! I'll be funny in the future.
